What is Plasma?

THE SCIENCE..............Plasma is the 4th state matter after gas, liquid and solid.  You cannot see plasma with the naked eye. Plasma comprises of an ionised gas charged with equal amounts of negative and positively charged ions and negatively charged electrons.

Plasma is formed through the ionisations of these gases when its hits the atmosphere.

When the probe is the right distance from the skin (we don't touch the skin) it creates a small electrical arc which vaporises any liquid in the skin at the point of contact.  The surrounding skin contracts into the area and tightens around it giving a shrinking and lifting effect. The skin's *fibroblasts* are stimulated to produce new collagen and elastin into the area to heal the skin over the next few weeks giving a further tightening effect.

Results can be seen instantly with best results at 12 weeks and can last for 3 years and more.

WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW.............As we age our dermal layer thins, less collagen is produced, elastin fibres wear out and these changes in the scaffolding of our skin cause it to wrinkle and sag and to lose laxity and texture. Plasma or fibroblasting is designed to dramatically repair, reverse and mitigate these effects and deliver a more youthful appearance using state-of-the-art technology and proven science.  Plasma will re-shape, re-build and strengthen the scaffolding within your dermis.

*Fibroblasts - A fibroblast is a cell that manufactures and maintains connective tissue. Fibroblasts secrete fibrous proteins that help build the extracellular matrix that is the basis of connective tissue. Proteins they secrete are;

Collagen - a tough, strong fibre that provides strength to our organs and tissues. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body.  When you have an injury to your skin, collagen is the stuff that forms the scar.

Elastin - is a stretchy, resilient protein. Like a rubber band, elastin helps tissues return to their previous shape after they've been stretched.  In sun-damaged skin, elastin fibres become weak and disorganised, allowing the skin to droop and sag.
